For a resort or homestay, Instagram isn't about going viral. It's about a guest opening your profile and thinking, 'This looks lovely, and it looks real. Let's message them.'
The hard part is knowing what to post week after week. Here are twenty ideas, grouped so you never run out.
Show the place
- Room tour. A 15-second walk from the door to the window view. One room type per reel.
- Morning and evening. The same spot at sunrise and after dark, side by side.
- The view from bed. Guests love to imagine waking up there.
- Weather moments. First monsoon rain on the pool, winter fog, a clear starry night. Post them the same day.
- Hidden corners. The reading nook, the swing, the garden bench guests don't notice until day two.
Show the food
- Breakfast spread. A slow pan across the table. Breakfast photos sell stays.
- Chef or cook at work. Making a local dish or rotis fresh. Real hands, real kitchen.
- A signature dish. One dish guests always ask about, with the story behind it.
- Farm to table. If you grow vegetables or buy from local farms, show it.
Show the people
- Meet the team. A short intro to the people who'll look after guests. Faces build trust fast.
- Owner's note. Why you started the place, or what you love about the area, in your own words.
- Guest moments. Reshare guests' stories and posts, with their permission.
- Behind the scenes. Setting up a birthday surprise, the housekeeping team making a towel animal, preparing for a festival.
Show the area
- Things to do nearby. A waterfall, a temple, a market or a trail, with travel time from your place.
- Seasonal guide. 'Why come in the monsoon' or 'What winter here looks like'.
- Local festival. How the area celebrates Navratri, Diwali, Christmas or a local fair.
- How to reach us. The drive in, the last turn, the gate. Useful and oddly popular.
Give people a reason to book
- Long-weekend offer. Post two to three weeks before the long weekend, with how to book.
- Direct-booking perk. 'Book with us directly and breakfast is on us.'
- Answer a common question. Pets? Kids' activities? Parking? Turn your most-asked WhatsApp question into a post.
A simple weekly routine
You don't need to post every day. A steady rhythm matters more than volume. A routine that works for many small properties:
- Monday. Take ten minutes of photos and short videos around the property.
- Tuesday. Post a reel: a room, view or food moment.
- Thursday. Post a photo or carousel: the area, a guest moment or an offer.
- Every day. A story or two when something nice happens: a sunset, a fresh dish, a happy guest.
- Always. Reply to comments and messages quickly. A message is often a booking in progress.
Set up your profile to bring bookings
- A clear name and a bio line that says what you are and where: 'Twelve pool villas, 20 min from Saputara lake.'
- A WhatsApp link, or a link to your website, in the bio.
- Story highlights for Rooms, Food, Things to do, Reviews and How to reach.
- Your location tagged on every post.
- The same name and phone number as on Google and your website.
If there's no time to do this yourself, that's what we're for. We plan the posts, edit the reels, write the captions and post for you each month, from photos and videos you or we take.
