Hotel & resort marketing · Andaman Islands, Andaman and Nicobar IslandsGuests plan Andaman months ahead. Be on the plan.
An Andaman trip means flights, ferries and island hopping, all booked in advance. We help resorts and beach stays on Havelock, Neil and Port Blair get picked early and booked directly.
The Andaman Islands market
Who comes to the Andaman Islands, and why
Guests come for the beaches, clear water and coral. Havelock, now officially Swaraj Dweep, has Radhanagar Beach and most of the dive schools. Neil, now Shaheed Dweep, is smaller and quieter, with Bharatpur and Laxmanpur beaches and the natural rock bridge. Port Blair, renamed Sri Vijaya Puram, is where everyone lands, and where they visit the Cellular Jail and its light and sound show.
Most guests are domestic: honeymooners, families and groups of friends from across India, often from Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, since flights connect through those cities. A typical trip is five to seven nights split across two or three islands. Foreign visitors come too, especially divers. Most foreign nationals no longer need a Restricted Area Permit for the main tourist islands, since the rules were eased in 2018.
Stays range from beach resorts and cottages on Havelock and Neil to city hotels in Port Blair, plus a good number of dive stays that combine rooms with courses. Much of the market is sold as packages by travel agents who bundle flights, ferries and hotels. That makes it hard for a property to win the guest directly unless it shows up while the trip is being planned.
Who books
Who stays in the Andaman Islands
Honeymooners
Andaman is one of India's best-known honeymoon trips. Couples want a beach-facing room, privacy and a simple way to add candlelight dinners or snorkelling.
Families on a package
They book through agents and split nights across Port Blair, Havelock and Neil. They want clear ferry help, safe swimming beaches and food kids will eat.
Divers and snorkellers
They pick a stay by the dive school and the reef, and they stay longer. They want to know about courses, dive sites and how close you are to the jetty.
Independent travellers
They plan their own ferries and island hops, compare stays on Google Maps and Instagram, and book directly if you make it easy.
The year
When guests come to the Andaman Islands
Peak season
October to April
Calm seas, clear water and the best diving, with December and New Year busiest. Sell early, push longer stays and bundle ferry help and activities.
Shoulder season
May
Hot, with the monsoon approaching and seas less predictable. Target flexible travellers and summer holiday families with good-value multi-night offers.
Monsoon
June to September
Heavy rain and rough seas, and ferries and water sports can be cancelled on bad days. Market quiet, rainy stays and honest, flexible booking terms.
Getting here
Guests fly into Veer Savarkar International Airport in Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), with direct flights from cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi. From Port Blair's jetties, ferries to Havelock take roughly one and a half to two and a half hours, depending on whether it is a private fast ferry or a government boat. Neil is usually visited on the same ferry route. Ferry tickets sell out in peak season, so guests need to book ahead.
The hard part
What makes marketing an Andaman stay hard
The islands are in demand, but the trip is complex and much of it is sold before guests pick a hotel.
- Travel agents bundle flights, ferries and hotels, so many guests never choose their own stay.
- Guests split their nights across islands, so you are competing for two or three nights, not a week.
- Ferry schedules and weather cancellations make guests nervous about booking directly with a small property.
- Havelock in particular has many similar beach resorts and cottages, so views, beach access and reviews decide a lot.
- The monsoon slump is steep, and water sports can close on rough days.
We can't fix the ferries or the sea, but we can help guests find you early and trust you enough to book directly.
What we'd do
What we'd do for a stay in the Andaman Islands
Here's how we'd approach marketing for a resort, beach stay or dive stay in the Andamans.
A ferry and arrival guide on your site
Clear, up-to-date notes on flights, ferries from Port Blair and how to reach you from the jetty. It answers the biggest worry guests have and brings search visits.
Honeymoon packages planned months ahead
Simple couple packages with a beach-facing room and extras, promoted during wedding season, when couples are choosing where to go.
A Google listing for island searches
Correct location, real photos of your beach and rooms, and a steady flow of reviews, so you show up for "resort near radhanagar beach" and "stay in neil island".
Dive and snorkel stay pages
Room-plus-diving packages with course options, dive site notes and the best months, aimed at divers who search specifically for them.
Multi-island itineraries
Five and seven night plans that include your property, so independent travellers can build their trip around you rather than around an agent.
Honest monsoon offers
Rainy-season deals with flexible dates, clearly explaining what might close. Sent to past guests and promoted to people who like quiet beaches.
Useful on its own
What guests search, and what to post.
The first list is the kind of thing guests type when looking for a stay in the Andaman Islands. Your website and Google listing should answer them. The second is a start on your next month of Instagram.

Marketing a stay in the Andaman Islands
Something else on your mind? Ask us on WhatsApp.
How do I get direct bookings when agents sell most Andaman packages?
Show up where guests plan. Many travellers research beaches and stays before they contact an agent, or plan the whole trip themselves. A clear website with ferry help, a strong Google listing and good reviews give them a reason to book you directly. We grow that direct share without asking you to drop the agents who bring volume.
Should I explain ferries on my website?
Yes. Ferries are the part of an Andaman trip guests worry about most. A simple page explaining the routes, how long they take and when to book builds trust and brings visitors from search. We'd keep it short, link to official booking where possible, and update it when schedules change.
Is it worth marketing to divers separately?
If you have a dive school on site or nearby, yes. Divers often stay longer and plan around the reef rather than the hotel. A dedicated page with dive packages, courses and the best months helps you reach them when they search. Keep it honest about the season and what conditions are like.
How do I fill rooms in the Andaman monsoon?
Don't try to sell the monsoon as if it were January. Target guests who want quiet beaches and lower rates, offer flexible dates, and be clear that ferries and water sports can be cancelled on rough days. Past guests and repeat visitors are your best audience, so we'd reach them by email and WhatsApp first.
