Hotel & resort marketing · Mount Abu, RajasthanGujarat fills Mount Abu on weekends. Let's fill weekdays.
Mount Abu is packed on Diwali, summer holidays and long weekends, and quiet the rest of the time. We help hotels, resorts and homestays get found by the right guests and booked directly, all year.
The Mount Abu market
Who comes to Mount Abu, and why
Mount Abu is Rajasthan's only hill station, a green plateau at about 1,220 metres in the Aravalli hills. For most of its guests it is simply the nearest hill station to home. A large share come from Gujarat: Ahmedabad is about 230 km away, and Palanpur, Mehsana, Vadodara and Surat are all within a day's drive. When Gujarat heats up in April and May, Mount Abu fills up.
People come for the cool air, boating on Nakki Lake, sunset at Sunset Point, the walk to Toad Rock, the view from Guru Shikhar, the highest point in the Aravallis, and the marble carving of the Dilwara Jain temples. Mount Abu is also a pilgrimage town. Jain families visit Dilwara, many come for Achalgarh and Adhar Devi, and the Brahma Kumaris headquarters here draws spiritual visitors from across India.
Most stays are mid-range hotels close to Nakki Lake and the market, with a few heritage properties, resorts on the quieter edges of town and a growing number of homestays and villas. The whole area is a notified eco-sensitive zone, and new construction is tightly controlled, so supply does not grow fast. Demand swings hard between packed holiday weekends and very quiet weekdays, and that is the real marketing problem here.
Who books
Who stays in Mount Abu
Gujarati families
They drive up for Diwali, summer vacation and long weekends. They want veg or Jain food, family rooms, parking and a place close enough to walk to Nakki Lake.
Honeymooners and young couples
Mount Abu is a classic honeymoon trip from Gujarat. They look for a room with a view, a quiet location and a candlelight dinner, and they book through Instagram and Google.
Pilgrims and spiritual visitors
Jain families visiting Dilwara, and visitors to the Brahma Kumaris centre. They care about simple, clean rooms, pure veg or Jain food and easy access to the temples.
Friends' groups and road trippers
College groups and bikers from Ahmedabad and Udaipur. They book late, often for one night, and compare prices hard on booking sites.
The year
When guests come to Mount Abu
Summer holidays
April to June
The biggest rush, as Gujarat families escape the heat. Sell early, sell direct, and push midweek stays for families who can travel any day.
Monsoon
July to September
Heavy rain, mist, waterfalls and green hills. Weekends stay busy with young couples and groups from Gujarat. Market monsoon weekends and misty view rooms.
Winter and festive
October to March
Diwali is packed, as is the Winter Festival from 29 to 31 December and New Year. Weekdays in January and February are quiet, so offer couples and senior citizens good weekday rates.
Getting here
The nearest railway station is Abu Road, about 28 km below the town, on the main Ahmedabad to Delhi line, so many guests come by train from Gujarat. The nearest airport is Udaipur, a few hours' drive away, though Ahmedabad's airport has far more flights. By road, Ahmedabad is about 230 km, roughly four to five hours, and it is an easy drive from North Gujarat. The last stretch up the hill is a winding ghat road.
The hard part
What makes marketing in Mount Abu hard
Mount Abu is easy to fill on some days and very hard on others.
- Demand is packed into weekends and holiday weeks, and weekdays can be almost empty.
- Most guests come from one state, so a slow period in Gujarat, like exams or monsoon travel fears, hits everyone at once.
- Many hotels near Nakki Lake look the same online, so guests choose on price and location only.
- Booking sites and travel agents in Gujarat control a big share of bookings, especially for families.
- Rooms can't easily be added or upgraded under the eco-sensitive zone rules, so you have to sell what you already have better.
We won't promise to fill every weekday, but a steady plan can make them a lot less empty.

Questions
Marketing a stay in Mount Abu
Something else on your mind? Ask us on WhatsApp.
How do I get bookings on weekdays in Mount Abu?
Target guests who can travel midweek: honeymooners, retired couples, spiritual visitors and families in school holidays. Give them a clear weekday rate, a small extra like a free dinner or late checkout, and promote it on Instagram and WhatsApp. Put the offer on your own site so it isn't lost in booking-site discounts.
Should I target guests beyond Gujarat?
Gujarat will stay your core market, and that is fine. But it is worth reaching Udaipur circuit travellers, Rajasthan road trippers and spiritual visitors from across India. A clear website in English and Hindi, and a Google listing with good photos, helps you show up when they plan.
How important are reviews for a hotel in Mount Abu?
Very. Many hotels near Nakki Lake look alike, so families read reviews to decide. Ask every guest for a Google review at checkout, with a simple QR code or WhatsApp link, and reply to every review, good or bad. Reviews that mention your food, cleanliness and location help the most.
Is the monsoon a good time to market Mount Abu?
Yes. The hills turn green, the lake fills and there is mist almost every day, which young couples and friends' groups love. Weekends in the monsoon can do well. Show real rain photos, make sure guests know the roads are open, and promote weekend packages to Gujarat before the rain starts.
