Munnar sits at about 1,600 metres in the Kannan Devan Hills of Idukki district, where three mountain streams meet. Tea has been grown here since the 1880s, and the rolling estates are what most guests come to see. Stays range from small family homestays in Chithirapuram, Pallivasal and Chinnakanal to large resorts along the Kochi road and in Anachal, plus a few old estate bungalows. Getting here
Cochin International Airport is about 110 km away, roughly 3 to 4 hours up the hill road through Adimali. The nearest big railway station is Aluva, about 120 km away, with Ernakulam as the other option. From Madurai it is around 170 km, 4 to 5 hours via Bodinayakanur. Bengaluru guests usually drive through Coimbatore and Udumalpet or fly to Kochi. Most guests arrive by taxi, so clear directions and pickup options on your site matter.
